Formation of the Vinnytsia Neurological School
In the post-war years, the department was headed by a student of Academician A.M. Grinshtein — Professor P.M. Alperovich. Together with the head of the department M.V. Faingold, they laid the foundation of the Vinnytsia Neurological School, developing practical neurology and outreach consulting services.
Over the years, outstanding specialists have worked at the department: O.P. Barabash, A.I. Zabara, R.Y. Mamychev, V.D. Bilyk, Y.V. Pishel (later Director of the Kharkiv Research Institute of Neurology and Psychiatry), A.I. Demchuk, T.I. Petrova, Y.I. Pshuk, and others.

This decision allowed for a focused effort on postgraduate education and the training of specialized professionals.
Today, the department continues the traditions of its predecessors, ensuring a high level of science and practice within the walls of the National Pirogov Memorial Medical University.
